Dear Fellow Setter Enthusiasts,
It may be the most "wonderful" time of the year, but it is also likely the busiest! This will be our last newsletter of 2025. Thanks to all for letting me share your setter news and highlights. Our growing club is mighty active, so there is often much to post. This month's big news centered around the ESAA events in Kentucky and Orlando. We also have an announcement regarding puppies - who doesn't love that?! Lastly, we have a regional update from ESAA.
And now, I will let the members and friends speak for themselves . . . in date order, ENJOY!
[p.s. - use the link at the top of this page to renew your annual membership ONLINE now (due by 30 Mar 2026); Click on Join Today button to become a new member anytime and feel free to Donate Now to support our club activities!]

Orlando - what an exhausting venue. But well worth the trip. We showed yesterday and today so far. TJ won Best in Sweeps yesterday and also today at the AKC Puppy and Junior Sweepstakes.
Jolene was not to be outshone by her brother though, winning her third 5 point specialty major at the tender age of 12 months to finish her championship. She was also Best of Winners and Best Bred By under judge Ken Murray.
TJ - Festivity BJ's Southern State of Mind
Jolene - Festivity BJ's Pretty Little Poison
(CH BJ's Festivity Believe in Your Dreams x CH Festivity BJ's Dirty Little Secret)
Bred & owned by Kristen Apodaca & BJ Parsons.

We just got home from the shows in Orlando, and Jesse, Pinehollow's One Moment In Time (Bode - Ellie),
,6 months & 10 days old, had a lot of fun (so did I!)! It was his first time at a dog show, and out of 5 times in the ring he got 3 firsts and 2 seconds! I was so proud, and surprised of how well he behaved! This is a picture of him at 12 weeks. More recent pics to follow!

A huge thank you to showchair person Amy Duncan for the awesome job she did on the ESAA Specialty and Supported entry in Orlando! So much fun to see so many dear friends there, the trophies were awesome, and a beautiful entry of our beloved breed with judges who love our breed. Thank you to all that entered and made it a beautiful showcase of our breed! Congrats to all the winners!
Our Miss Poppy made her debut in the show ring and as our dear friend Garth used to say had some “moments of greatness”.
Thursday she won her sweepstake class and the bred by puppy class!
Friday at the specialty she was 2nd in a beautiful bred by puppy class!
Ellie got no love but was shown beautifully by Kristen Apodaca and we could not have been more proud of her! Thank you Jessica Shute for the video!
Very proud of brother Jessie and his awesome class wins, but I will let his owner Brett Cain post her brags.
I was happy to be able to show Poppy just a week short of 3 months after a full knee replacement! Life is good!
Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and Happy New Year!

AND LASTLY - an ESAA Southeast End of the Year Update, from our Regional VP and ESCC Club President, Kristen Apodaca - email - 20 Dec 2025 -

Hello ESAA Southeast members,
I hope everyone is having a great holiday season. I wanted to touch on a few things as the year closes out.
ESAA has been making a lot of changes and trying to communicate those changes in as many ways possible (ie: website, email, Facebook, Instagram, just to name a few). We hope that you have been getting all the information. If you ever have any questions or concerns about anything ESAA is doing then please let me know and I will do my best to provide you with the answers.
The Central Carolina English setter club has expanded their area to include all of North and South Carolina. The club is now known at the English Setter Club of the Carolinas. The club can now offer events over a larger area. The club will continue to try to grow to include all of the Southeast in order to offer events to all English setter fanciers across the region. Please reach out if you have any questions regarding these changes and check out the website for club meetings and other event information. You may also join the club by visiting the website. https://www.englishsetterclub.org/
The ESAA specialty at the Orlando shows in Florida was a hit this year, after skipping last year. There was a great turnout from all across the country. We look forward to continuing this kind of participation in the future.
Lastly I want to remind everyone to renew your ESAA membership. Below is some information about how to do that.
You have two renewal options:
1. Click on the “renew ESAA membership” button on the homepage and then either renew online or use the printable renewal form. Here is the direct link to on-line renewals:
2. You can renew via the postal system by printing the above form.
As always, please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
Happy holidays to all and a Happy New Year!
