From our Members - Brags and Wags!
Posted by Frank Joseph Luksa, Jr. – June 2026 - I am thrilled to announce that - BISS GCH CH WINDSORS PATRIOT won the English Setter Club of New England specialty on Saturday in Norwalk, CT.
Teddy has had a stellar weekend, earning three Best of Breeds and 2# Group 3. Teddy was expertly handled by Peter Kubacz.
This dog is owned by Jacqueline Caffrey and myself. His pedigree includes sire GCH DC Festivity BJ'S Tornado Warning Rash CGC TKN, and dam NFC NAFC NWGDC AFC DC Windsor's Lightning Over Munroc (Tesla), bred by Gen Rhonda L. Cornun and Frank J. Luksa Jr.
Notably, Teddy is a young dog, just turning 3 years old this July 4, and is also pointed in the field. I would like to acknowledge Jacqueline Caffrey's dedication to giving Teddy ever opportunity to succeed in the ring and a most comfortable wingback chair to rest on at home.

Posted by Kristen Apodaca - July 9, 2026 - Jolene, Jolene, Jolene, Jolene! She will do it just because she can! She went Select b*tch (for a 5 point major toward her Grand) her first time out as a special at the English Setter Club of the Carolinas specialty! (6 months since she was shown last for her championship!)
She then followed it up the next day with a Best In specialty over top ranked English setters at another English setter Club of the Carolinas specialty!
Thank you to all the judges who have recognized her at the very few specialties she has attended in her life so far! Looking forward to what the future holds for her!

BISS Ch Festivity BJ's Pretty Little Poison - Jolene

Mel showed her heart out for me at the Lake Norman Kennel Club today and pulled off Best of Opposite/Best OH in the breed judging. She followed it up with an OH Sporting group 1 and the grand finale..
Best Owner Handled in Show!! We are so proud and thrilled! beyond belief!
Thank you breed judge Gerardo A Paolucci, OH Sporting group judge Larry Abbott and Oh Best in Show judge Mike Jackman. We are honored that you recognized our girl!

Posted by Jan Flaherty - July 12, 2026 -GREAT SPECIALTY WEEKEND IN CONCORD THIS WEEKEND!!!! Thank you to all the members that worked so hard for a successful show! Blu’Star and Sunset did awesome! From left to right: Cali took a 5 point major and is now at 14 points. 9 month old Jackie took a Best of Opposite in Sweeps and reserve winners. Sister Iris took Best of Sweeps the next day with first time showing by new mom. Bristol took her first major from bred by and Liberty finished her GR Ch in style! She was in ribbons everyday from BOS, AOM, and finished today with a Group 4 OH. Liberty gained 31 grand champion points total this weekend.

Posted by Marcy Borelli - July 12, 2026 - Well, that was a long 5 days of dog shows yet it flew by so fast! We didn't do anything in the last 3 shows after the spectacular run, but we did pick up tips and tricks which are always good! We have another weekend of shows here in NC after 3 days of recovery! Thank you to everyone for their kind words! Thank you, Lindsey for being a rockstar and making Tatum look like one too! I am on cloud 9 with my new champion girl! Thanks again, Deb, for taking a chance on me with one of your puppies!

Posted by Lynda Chase - July 12, 2026 - I got to check off another item from my bucket list this past weekend by entering the Duluth Kennel Club Show. I grew up in Duluth and it was the first show I ever entered when I was about 18 years old with my collie Tanya! So, I thought at 74, with two knee replacements (same knee) I needed to get it done and it was a great time. Great being set up with my ES buds from MN & WI!
Poppy did not disappoint going best of winners the two shows we entered under English Setter breeder Judge Jamie Hubbard and Sporting Dog Specialist Doug Johnson. We dusted off Ellie and showed her as well and I could not be more proud to have bred both these girls with Dave.
BTW, the refrigerated city was almost a 100 degrees when we left late this afternoon.

Posted by Kristen Apodaca - July 12, 2026 - Way to go River and Trent!
All Breed Group 2 in 4-6 mo. puppies!

Posted by Haylee Meadows - July 13, 2026 - Finally home, able to relax and able to reflect on an amazing weekend In Concord NC. I want to give a huge thank you to everyone who worked so hard to put the Victory Lane Classic and the English Setter Specialty shows. Also a huge thank you to all the wonderful judges who were able to find my girls in a beautiful line up of dogs.
Bristol- Sunset’s Bullet in a Bonfire at Blu’Star
Bristol had a great weekend getting 5 reserves winners. She also was able to pull out Winners for a 4 point Major and also a Best Bred By. She’s finally maturing and becoming the show dog I know she will be.
Liberty- GCh Huntwoods Sunset Kiss My Brass at Blu’Star
Liberty had an amazing weekend. She was able to pull off an OH Group 4, 3 Best Of Opposite Sex and BOB OH, 4 Selects and 1 Award Of Merit. Pending AKC Approval she got her Grand Championship. She ended the show cluster with a total of 31 points.

Posted by Daniela Suarez - July 20, 2026 - Some of the professional pics from the 3 days I showed in Concord, NC. Bastian the tri boy at 13 months old bred by Pauliina Artiola owned by me, Lisa Nielsen and his breeder. Sammy my bred by.

Posted by BJ Parsons - July 27, 2026 - We are so excited about this litter. Magic has produced wonderfully for us and is the litter sister to DC AFC Blu'Star's BJ's Festivity Guardian of Talisman (Rocket). Magic hasn't had much opportunity to work birds, concentrating on the whelping box and being my perfect house dog.
Rizzo is a wonderful young dog and this will be his first litter. Only two years old, he is already a specialty and group winner in limited showing. Thanks to Anna M Quigley and Karen Kennedy for making this litter possible.

Posted by Cheryl Pfeiffer - July 31, 2026 - What a journey it has been! Going from sweet gentle giants (Our Newfs) to this crazy and amazing breed! We lost our first boy waaaaaay too young, but this boy here has been such a gift!! . We’re so thankful to Kristen Apodaca and Bj Parsons for being with us through it all!
We’re also thankful for all of the amazing people we have met along the way!
Here’s to our crazy, knucklehead, sweetest boy - Monty!
Thank you Lisa Popson Moreau for highlighting him so well!
