HEADLINER!
Since this will be our first specialty under our new club name and logo, our Board Members have been working behind the scenes on updating our image materials . . . Below is a sampling of items we will be rolling out during our shows, to include Double sided Information Cards, Table Banners and Business Cards . . . more to come! (We are grateful that many of these items have been donated at no cost to ESCC)
Click on the photo above to access our Specialty Site Page for full details. We are updating this as new information becomes available and will include the Premium listing, once it is available for distribution. If you have any questions about the Specialty Weekend, feel free to contact our Chair for the event - Rob McBride - bps.mcb2002@gmail.com

Charles and Stephanie Reitz along with Janet Coates are soliciting and receiving wonderful items for our raffle table - if you have something to donate, please reach out to one of them . . . there's still time! Charles and Stephanie - cnsreitz@gmail.com and Janet Coates - intriguees@gmail.com.
We are also soliciting for Trophy Donations to offset the considerable cost of providing trophies and awards during 5 days of shows - You can donate online at https://www.englishsetterclub.org/ (At HOME Page, Click “Donate Now”) or send checks directly to our Treasurer. Please make all checks payable to “ESCC” in U.S. funds, and mail to: Linda Wozniak, 9514 Bridle Spur, Chapel Hill, NC 27516 (Please designate on the check this is a donation for the specialty).
Would you like to honor/memorialize your setter on one of the new table coverings we will be using in our upcoming events? Patty McBride has offered to sew your setter's name - i.e., - Pine Hollow's One Moment In Time - Jesse for a $10 donation to our trophy fund. This applies to any and all setters that have been part of our club since its CCESC inception. For members wanting to add multiple setter names, each additional name can be added for $5. Any members interested can contact Patty directly at briarpatch.englishsetters@gmail.com or 828-450-7620. We would love to have the table covering filled with the names of our beloved setters this July when we formally introduce our new club materials.
CLUB EVENTS
ESCC had another FANTASTIC Field Day back at the Farm on April 18. Special thanks to Deb and Lee Hallock for their generosity in hosting and their amazing hospitality. We had a wonderful turnout and a good time was had by all! It was another gorgeous and yes, HOT day. We have learned to start the field work earlier to accommodate the pups (and their handlers) who participated. Frank Luksa, Jr. was there and provided much guidance to participants working with their individual setters (with his shadow/aka Assistant, River)! Charles Reitz manned the grill, everyone brought food, we had a fun and productive in-person club meeting with one attending via conference call. Lastly, thanks to all who participated in the DNA testing made possible by our resident Dr. B.J. Parsons DVM (retired). Multiple contributions were made to the OFA DNA Repository.
Pictures below tell the story and additional videos of the event can be found on our Facebook Page! (once on the page, scroll down to postings from April 18, 2026)

Twister got mail! I BELIEVE he is the only VES6 not trained by Terry Barnes.
Many thanks to Sue Johnson for administering this program. And to everyone else - if I can do this, so can you. Spend time with your English Setter and it will pay off.

Start with your “high” - the best part of your day.
Follow with your “low” - something that was tricky, frustrating, or sad.

Some dogs are just too smart for their own good. Standing on the grooming table to finish off the dinner left behind by his mother. They say using tools is a mark of intelligence. Sometimes I wonder about this one.
Wally - CH BJ:s Festivity I Am The Walrus JH
And yes Kristen, you STILL co-own him!
